Following on from EXPO 2000 in Hanover, the next Universal World Fair (from 1 May to 31 October 2010) will be:

EXPO 2010 Shanghai China.

Federal Minister of Economics, Michael Glos, confirmed that the Federal Republic of Germany would participate in EXPO 2010 back in June 2006. Germany will be among the countries presenting a national pavilion at the event. In January 2007, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, which is in charge of the pavilion, commissioned Koelnmesse International GmbH to organise the German EXPO presentation.
