On their journey through the German Pavilion, visitors are accompanied by two fellow travellers – a young man from Germany, Jens, and a young Chinese woman, Yanyan. Jens has spent a year studying at a university in Shanghai and is now introducing Yanyan, an architecture student whom he met in China, to Germany, showing her the country from his perspective. Together with the two young people, who appear in multimedia form to start with, visitors are invited to take part in the discovery. As they gradually make their way through the "city in balance", Jens and Yanyan present German proposals and innovations for solving urban problems, ideas that pick up on the EXPO theme of "Better City, Better Life". All that in three languages: German, Chinese and English.
