The land of beer, Bavaria also presses fine Franken Wine. The Oktoberfest (Munich Beer Festival), Neuschwanstein Castle and the blaze of the Alps also attract more foreign tourists than any other federal state.

But the slogan Laptop und Lederhose (laptop and leather trousers) proves that Bavaria is much more than living tradition. Its economy - stronger than the Swedish – excels with world brands such as BMW, Audi, Siemens, MAN and EADS (Airbus). Its capital, Munich, has more publishing houses than any other German city.

And outside the metropolis, Germany's largest federal state also shines brightly: Bayreuth's Wagner Festival is sold out annually.
