With a 50-strong team of architects and interior designers, Schmidhuber + Kaindl design and implement complete projects for brands and companies, public institutions and stores and restaurants. The company focuses on semantic and planning precision to create a stable basis for architecture that makes a long lasting impression and draws a global audience. The team then uses the space thus generated to communicate and inform on an aesthetic, symbolic and social level.
Schmidhuber + Kaindl’s portfolio includes temporary architecture for exhibition stands in Asia, the US and Europe, and interior design projects for banks, office buildings and hospitals. The team’s work for clients such as Audi AG, O2 (Germany), Deutsche Bundesbank, Samsung Electronics and E.ON Energie has won a whole series of awards, including red dot awards, iF (International Forum Design) prizes, ADAM awards and ADC (Art Directors Club Deutschland) trophies.
Selected projects by Schmidhuber + Kaindl GmbH:
Audi AG stand at the IAA 2007 motor show in Frankfurt am Main: Design, planning and realisation of the stand.
The stand architecture was designed to create the impression of a market square with an intelligent visitor-flow management system that immersed visitors into the world of Audi as soon as they entered.
Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung, Turin 2006: Design and realisation of a temporary pavilion during the Winter Olympics.
The pavilion’s outline – borrowed from the Samsung logo – was completely covered in a golden membrane, providing a sharp contrast to the Renaissance-style surroundings.
