The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology has overall responsibility for Germany’s pavilion at EXPO 2010 Shanghai.

The official pavilion representative is the German Commissioner General, Dietmar Schmitz, who is the head of the EXPO division at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. As a delegate at the Paris-based Bureau International des Expositions (B.I.E), he has been involved in world exhibitions all over the globe for many years.

In November 2007, Dr Peter Kreutzberger was appointed as the Vice Commissioner General. Dr Kreutzberger is the Deputy Consul General at the Federal Republic of Germany’s Consulate General in Shanghai and, as such, he provides an important link to the Chinese organisers and local institutions associated with Germany.

The General Manager, Wolfgang Löffler, is in charge of the Federal Ministry’s preparations for the German Pavilion.

Detlev Stüber, from the Ministry of Science, Economic Affairs and Transport of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, is responsible for coordinating the federal states’ presentations in the German Pavilion.

Koelnmesse International GmbH (Kmi) has been commissioned with the task of organising the German Pavilion and running it – in close consultation with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

Dirk. M. van der Coelen is the Managing Director, resuming the role he took on in the EXPO 2005 Aichi / Japan project at Koelnmesse International GmbH.

Urte Fechter, Project Manager at Koelnmesse International GmbH, has already helped manage various EXPOs and will act as Pavilion Director in 2010.

Her team includes Julia Mok-Russo and Joël Willers, who will serve as Deputy Directors during the EXPO and thus also be involved in managing the pavilion.

The media representatives from Germany, China and the rest of the world will be supported by the Press Manager, Guido Gudat, and his colleague, Marion Conrady, the Press Officer for the German Pavilion.

The German Pavilion’s cultural programme is being drawn up and coordinated by Anja Goette. She is also the person to contact if you are interested in participating in or sponsoring the German cultural programme.

The Koelnmesse International GmbH EXPO team is supported by Julia Kasper and Juliane Barnikol-Körner, Assistant to the Pavilion Director.
