Berlin shows its creative and artistic side
“The place to be” – Berlin presents itself as cosmopolitan city. Its open, multicultural scene is as much a part of Germany’s capital as the Berlin Bear. For the Berlin Days taking place at the EXPO from 1 to 6 June 2010, the city on the Spree River plans to show all the variety it has to offer: fashion and music, young acrobats and exhibitions will be featured at the World Exhibition 2010 in Shanghai. For the “Regional Diversity“ series, Berlin artists will bask in the limelight at the German Pavilion and on the EXPO stage on Europe Square. How is it possible that you can only really see properly with eyes closed – and what does that have to do with the Reichstag building? What do German and Chinese youth slang have in common? The German Pavilion has the answers.

- The Berlin trio “Jahcoozi” treats listeners to an unusual mix of musical genres, including Punk, Dancehall, Dubstep, Disco and Breakbeat.

- Berlin Square will feature not only musicians, but will also form the setting for film screenings and moveable street scenes. A performance group will continually rearrange 25 cubes around the square between 1 and 5 June 2010, causing them to take on a steady range of new constellations to form an interactive street installation.

- Berlin DJane Ipek İpekçioğlu springs into action. During afternoons and evenings from 1 to 6 June 2010 she will take EXPO visitors on an audio journey through music and culture.
